Mitchell Bagnas is a representational artist, instructor, and writer based in Northeastern Pennsylvania. Working in charcoal, pastel, and oil, his work centers on the human figure and explores themes of introspection, emotion, grief, and the quieter moments of the human experience.

Bagnas trained at Àni Art Academy Waichulis under artist Anthony Waichulis, where he now serves as an instructor, guiding developing artists through the academy's drawing and painting curriculum.

His work has received recognition from the Art Renewal Center's International ARC Salon and Strokes of Genius, including First Place in Strokes of Genius 17 for his drawing Mourning Swan. His work has also appeared in The Best of Drawing and has been exhibited through Lovetts Gallery in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

In addition to his studio and teaching practice, Bagnas is a contributing writer for Smartermarx Magazine, where he writes about artistic development, creative practice, and the experiences that shape a life in the arts.

Through his work, Bagnas seeks to create images that are not only carefully observed, but emotionally resonant, inviting viewers to find something of their own experiences within them.
